“Work in Progress” is a teen comedy-drama, coming of age, animated series.Set in Washington State during the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, Work in Progress follows four friends dealing with the pressure of adulthood looming just over the horizon.

OLIVIA QUINN
Olivia Grace Quinn is a 16-year-old freelance artist.She’s a lot less codependent than her friends, but doesn’t entirely know what she’d do without them. She struggles making emotional connections with people, including her friends and family.In her spare time, Olivia can be observed listening to the latest rock albums on her iPod and watching movies for inspiration with her artwork.
JHON BELL
Jhon Bell is a 15-year-old boy with a big ol’ heart filled with love to give!Jhon and YellowHead have spent their whole lives together and are even roommates. Brought together and bonded by a love of adventure.In his spare time, he enjoys exploring new places with new people, bike riding, walking, finding new rocks for his collection, playing video games and doing DIY projects at home.
YELLOWHEAD
YellowHead is a 15-year-old porcelain kid with a thrill-seeking attitude and teasing personality.On their childhood adventures, while Jhon was naively walking around aloof, YellowHead was stealing bread for them to eat, jumping down sewers, and taking all the risks Jhon didn’t dare do. A numbskull at heart.YellowHead in new settings is typically quiet and closed off, but is a social butterfly around those he holds close. Despite his personality, he's incredibly loyal to those he calls friends.In his spare time, he enjoys climbing trees, exploring abandoned buildings, spray painting—all that fun anxiety-inducing fun stuff.
JIM ROBERTS
Jim Roberts is a 17-year-old, anxiety ridden, half vampire.Jim Roberts is an interesting case- he is the son of a human mother and a vampiric father. He lacks a majority of the powers and abilities of a normal vampire, but is still trying and slowly learning.Jim is a follower, and struggles to make his own decisions without the influence of others. He’s incredibly anxious, self conscious, and often seeks validation from his friends.Jim tends to enjoy just doing what everyone else is doing, but one of his few passions in life is cooking.
DANIELLE QUINN
Danielle Jane Quinn is a 22-year-old burnout. She is the older sister of Olivia Quinn.In her youth, Danielle was a punk. She’d stay out late with friends smoking, hang out in the woods, and come home late. She couch surfed for 3 years, before returning to take care of Olivia after the passing of their mother.Danielle is emotionally immature and lacks any direction in life. She misses the simpler times during her teen years, and this reminiscing over the past manifests itself as what can only be described as an early mid-life crisis. She's not proud of the person she is, but isn't ashamed of herself either, and doesn't seek validation or approval.When she’s not sleeping around the house, raiding the fridge, and never cleaning up after herself, Danielle enjoys going to her only friend Penelope’s house, getting high while listening to some old punk music, watching a bad movie, and complaining about life.

Jade Barlowe is a 17-year-old graffiti artist.Being the only child in a middle class family has not made her entitled. Jade is a serious and pessimistic artist, driven by a need for individualism and non-conformity.As much as she denies it, she takes pride in her artwork and doesn't like to be interrupted. She can be found doodling in the back of the class with big headphones and ignoring her teachers.
TIFFANY BROWN
Tiffany Brown is a 17-year-old ray of sunshine!Tiffany's mother left when she was very young, and has since been the rock in her father's life.Unlike her best friend Jade, she's very extroverted, hyper, and positive adventurer. She sometimes over-extends herself and her compassion, but she's trying to be better at it.
ALEX RICHARDS
Alex Richards is a 16-year-old poser and guitar player.Alex tries his hardest to live up to the high academic standard as his brother, and win his parents approval.To make up for his insecurities, he puts up a tough guy persona.
KYLE MILLER
Kyle Miller is a 14-year-old child prodigy.Kyle's extreme intelligence has landed him in high-school at a very young age. He's a bit shy in this new setting, but usually tends to planning and designing his various gadgets and gizmos for fun.Kyle is mute, but is able to communicate through sign language and his own actions and writing.

WHAT IS "WIP" ABOUT REALLY?
It's the year 2009, and four friends, Olivia Quinn, Jhon Bell, YellowHead, and Jim Roberts are all growing up. The inevitable pressure and hardships of becoming an adult and finding your place in the world is terrifying. It's a different world for everybody.
Joined by a large supporting cast, let's see how some of these kids deal with it!
Themes of growing up, found family, friendship, anxiety, alienation, and separation will all be present, but not to the extent where everyone is consistently mopey knowing that there’s nothing to be done about it lol
Hi there, thanks for visiting this page! I'm PieLord, and I made Work in Progress.My experiences growing up have influenced my writing immensely since I first made these characters, and I kinda like to think of this project as a little diary of what I learned along the way.I've restarted and re-conceptualized this project multiple times from 2013-2019, based on what I've learned from leading other projects.
I'd best describe the tone now something of a cross between Freaks and Geeks, Lucky Star, and Daria.
